RVDA-RVIA RV Service Technician Certification Program

The RVDA-RVIA RV Service Technician Certification Program is designed to assist the RV industry and the public in identifying those professionals who have demonstrated the knowledge and ability to satisfy established standards in RV diagnostic and repair procedures. Technicians must complete two comprehensive tests in the certification process; a Registered Technician test and a Certified Technician test.

If you’re learning about RVDA-RVIA RV Service Technician certification tests for the first time, we recommend that you begin with the General Information page, which provides a broad overview of the program, then for detailed information, applications, test fees, and requirements for each test, click on the links below.

Computer-Based Testing (CBT)

We have partnered with ProctorU, a live on-line test proctoring service, to deliver secure online testing available 24 hours a day from work or home.

Testing information and system requirements can be found using the links below.  When you have submitted an application to RVDA you will be contacted by e-mail to confirm that you have performed the system requirements on your computer. Once you respond, a test will be uploaded into the ProctorU system which generates an automated e-mail to the test taker called a "Reservation Invitation".  You simply use the link in your Reservation e-mail to schedule your own test with ProctorU. Once you receive your "Reservation Invitation" e-mail you have a four-week deadline to take your test.

  • How it works - learn how to use ProctorU for the testing.
  • System Requirements:  ProctorU computer requirements for testing.  Run the diagnostics on your computer right from this site.

Verify your computer - there are two verifications that need to be completed before you can take a online test. Please read the document and set up your computer properly.  You are required to download the utilities file to your desktop before testing.
