1.    What is the best way to prepare for the certification tests?

To get a sense of how prepared you are, you can review the duties, tasks and steps found in the Registered Study Guide. (Currently there is no Study Guide available for the Certification level test).  If you need to brush up on a topic you should look at the training opportunities outlined in the Training and Test Preparation page or on the RV Industry Training Calendar.

2.    Are there classes that are required before I can take a certification test?

No. There are no classes or courses required to take any of the certification tests. There are sign-off sheets required for the tests. Completion of these sign-off sheets verify hands-on practical applications.

The bottom line is the more training and practical experience you have, the better you will do on the tests.
3.    Where can I purchase a study guide?

A Registered Technician study guide is available at no cost in PDF format on the Training and Test Preparation page.  There is no study guide available for the Certified Technician test.

4.    What are the sign-off sheets?

The sign-off sheets were developed by subject matter experts and identify the correct way to accomplish each task.  Some test questions are directly related to the sign-off sheets tasks and how they are directed to be performed.  Specific sign-off sheets are required for the Registered Technician and Certified/Master Technician tests.
